As children grow, so does their inner world — and sometimes big feelings, life changes, or social challenges can feel overwhelming.

Play therapy for ages 7 to 11 offers a safe, creative space for children to explore their emotions, build self-esteem, and develop healthy ways of coping — all through age-appropriate play, art, and conversation. At The Resilience Room, we use evidence-based, child-centred approaches that support emotional expression and growth in a way that feels natural and engaging. Through a blend of imaginative play, drawing, storytelling, and games, children are supported in making sense of their experiences and strengthening their emotional resilience.

As part of the play therapy journey, it is important that we see the parents of the child first without the child being present. This initial session allows us to gather important background information, understand your child's developmental and emotional history, learn about any concerns you may have, and assess the family dynamics that may be influencing your child's behaviour. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions about the therapeutic process and clarify goals. This helps ensure that therapy is as effective and supportive as possible for your child.
